Technology

The teacher certification program at Hope College is very rigorous. Part of what makes it so great though, is that rigor and challenge. Below are some examples of work I have done using technology in creative ways, apart from just the usual PowerPoint presentation or Excel spreadsheet.

This first video was made as a way to highlight something I love; Spanish. We were tasked to make a five minute video on any education-related topic of our choosing. I chose to use this opportunity to make a video that would hopefully entice students who are considering or just starting to take Spanish. This video was created using Animoto (animoto.com).

This video was made as a collaborative effort between myself and three peers, also studying to be teachers. The goal here was to create a video that could explain to other teachers what the Common Core State Standards are and provide basic information about them (ie: how they are structured, how they are impacting the direction of education, etc.). This video was created using Vuvox Collage! (vuvox.com/collage).
